Micro-wedding Details
Wondering how to make your micro wedding different from your big wedding? Both can be beautiful and unique.
While planning our micro wedding, we thought about the things we wanted to save until we could share those with our family and friends. Below are some of our special details, hope this helps!
1. Different Design
We asked our planner Laura with Grit & Grace to give us a city-chic mood and she delivered. The mood boards were stunning but the real life product left me speechless. Everything from the tablecloths, floral arrangements, and oyster shells with salt and pepper. The theme really fit the hotel venue which was in the wine room at the Conrad Hotel in D.C.
2. Different outfits
Collin and I both wore different outfits from what we’re wearing for our big wedding. In case you missed it – I wrote a post with all of the details for both of our outfits. Read that blog post here
3. Little Details
As I mentioned previously, our planner had monogrammed passport holders made for each guest. Inside was a double sided card designed by the incredibly talented Steph B. One side had a thank you note from Collin & I, the other was the dinner menu.
4. Welcome Bags
It was important for me to have welcome bags for all our guests. We purchased these bake kits from Buttercream Bakeshop as an ode to our Mexico wedding, bags from etsy that our guests can use at the beach this coming year, snacks, water and of course champagne to enjoy in their rooms before dinner.
5. Family Video
Our extended families were not able to celebrate with us so they put together a video as a surprise. Before dessert, they rolled out the screen and let me tell you there were a LOT of tears. However, this video will be something I cherish forever. We’ve watched it at least 10 times since November.
6. Saving the Vows
Collin & I felt this was the most important part of the wedding. We wanted to save that special moment until we could be in front of all our families and friends. The officiant said the standard vows so it was legal then we signed the papers.
