Microwedding Outfits

Emma’s Outfit

When we were planning our micro wedding, I knew I wanted to wear something unique and completely different from my wedding dress. Feeling comfortable, bridal, yet beautiful was my goal. I scrolled through my Instagram explorer page and landed on this stunning piece. After lots of research, I decided the Rime Arodaky Patsy jumpsuit fit all the criteria!! I’m 5’11” so I was hesitant that the romper wouldn’t work for me. I reached out to the Rime Arodaky team with my measurements and they were extremely helpful in finding the perfect size for me! They recommended I size up in order to get alterations done for the perfect fit. After it came in, I took it to Carine’s bridal in D.C. where I got my first and second look for my upcoming wedding. We ended up making changes to the pants, sides and sleeves to give it the perfect fit.

My favorite part is the train. I’ve never seen an outfit that has it attached to the back which provided the perfect substitution for a veil. If you’re looking for a jumpsuit that provides movement if your pictures, this is it!

Since the detail on the outfit was so intricate, I wanted all of the focus to remain on the jumpsuit. Next step was finding accessories to compliment it. My planner spent so much time assisting in the search to help me find the perfect pair of shoes. I am not a pro in heels, I’m also pretty tall as it is so I rarely wear them. I found the illusion Christian Louboutin’s online and originally purchased a size 38. Come to find out, these shoes are not the best for wide feet so I had to return them and purchase a 39.5. They fit perfectly with the bigger size with the perfect heel height. To be honest, I should have worn them prior to the big day to stretch them out but for pictures they were perfect. These were an investment piece for me so I plan to wear them again for our upcoming wedding in Mexico.

The most special piece for me was my hand painted jacket with our wedding date in roman numerals. I purchased this jean jacket with pearl sleeves from Bloomingdales since it was the perfect shade with a smooth back. I hired the extremely talented Lauren Schneider to paint this piece for me. Once I explained our wedding details, Lauren got my vision right away! The mockup was dreamy, but the jean jacket was absolute perfection. I am all about the little details, this jacket was the last piece to bring together my city-chic wedding outfit.

*if you are interested in the Rime Arodaky Patsy jumpsuit, I would purchase it directly from the site or a trust website like net-a-porter. When I was originally searching for this romper, I found multiple listings using their pictures at a much lower price.

Collin’s Outfit

After we received the mood board from our planner, we saw a pink and blue theme that we kept in mind while picking Collin’s tux. I knew I did not want him in a typical black blazer, so we were thrilled when we found the rose blazer at the Black Tux. He was fitted in person at Nordstrom to get the pants, undershirt, and blazer to ensure the correct measurements. We were a little nervous about the fit because Collin is 6’ 4” so we have a tough time finding things that fit perfectly. It arrived a few days before the wedding and fit perfectly! He even mentioned how comfortable it was. If your groom does not want to purchase a tux, I highly recommend renting one!!
