Positano
Arrival: We flew from Germany to Naples airport on Ryanair. Once we arrived, we were greeted by our driver that was arranged by our Airbnb host. I HIGHLY recommend arranging private transportation when heading to Positano or Amalfi Coast. It’s about an hour and a half drive from Naples and the roads are super windy. It is the more expensive option - but I promise it’s worth it
Airbnb: I was absolutely obsessed with this place. The apartment was clean, spacious and we had the best hosts (listing is linked below). I will note it was towards the top of Positano so getting down to the bottom was a workout each way. We could have opted to rent a scooter or use a taxi, but if you know my husband, he loves the workout :) If you want to stay at the bottom, there are multiple beautiful hotels to choose from but be prepared - they are PRICEY.
Day 1
Arrive in Positano
Dinner at Da Gabrisa Restaurant & Wine bar - highly recommend the ravioli and caprese salad
Day 2
Private Boat Tour with Bluestar Positano
There are a bunch of different companies who offer private boat tours, however I really enjoyed our experience with them. It’s a family run business so their customer service was outstanding which is always a positive for me. The captain was extremely knowledgable and we felt super safe with him! We chose the 32ft boat - I wouldn’t go much smaller because the water gets choppy.
9AM - cruised down to coast to see all of the most popular sites down the Amalfi Coast
11AM - quick stop at Amalfi! We hopped off the boat to explore downtown, the church, and of course had to get a lemon sorbet
12PM - lunch at Ristorante La Tonnarella - the best calamari!
1PM - anchored near Positano to swim and enjoy champagne
Day 3
Breakfast at Casa E Bottega - this was such a gem!! The food & coffee were incredible
We spent the day exploring Positano - my advice would be get a comfy pair of tennis shoes. I wish I had my Apple Watch on because I would love to know how many steps we walked this day
Dinner at Chez Black - located on the main beach - it was pretty touristy however it seemed popular so we wanted to try it out. The pizza was not only delicious but came in the shape of a heart - we love that for instagram
Day 4
Arienzo Beach Club - by far our favorite day!!! They have different packages available but we chose the front row chairs with lunch and a bottle of champagne included. They offer a free boat shuttle from the main beach of Positano so it’s a quick 10 minute ride over. We spent the entire day drinking, eating, and floating - what could be better than that? If you want a more romantic experience, I recommend going away from the main beach in Positano and reserving a space at a beach club.
Packing Tip: bring water shoes, sunscreen, portable phone charger and a hat!
Dinner at Il Grottino Azzurro - this was conveniently located by our Airbnb and recommended by the host.
Rome
Arrival: We took the train from Naples to Rome which only took 1 hour. It went by so quick but it was fun to see some of the countryside in Italy!
Hotel: Since we were only in Rome for two days, we wanted a view and decided to splurge a little bit on this boutique hotel. This place was incredible! The service, room and not to mention the view of the coliseum.
Day 1
Arrive in Rome
Cocktails & Apps at The Court which is located inside the hotel. Also available to the public, they offer unique cocktails and a free tray of appetizers.
Dinner at Mimi e Coco - I’m still dreaming about this cacio e pepe. This was one of the best finds thanks to Pinterest!! They don’t take reservations so we went later in the evening and got lucky with no wait since there were only two of us. We followed the evening by some sight-seeing and gelato.
Day 2
Breakfast was included with our room rate so we took full advantage of that!
Exploring & Site Seeing - we spent the morning walking around the entire city to see the sites. I didn’t book any formal tours since we were there for a short amount of time.
Lunch & Exploring Trastevere - this little area is a must see!! Also found on Pinterest, the streets are picturesque. We had lunch at Nannarella - honestly the best pizza we had the entire trip!
Dinner - We decided to experience the hotels Michelin star restaurant, Aroma. It was such a unique experience and we lucked out with a killer sunset. The food and service were unbelievable but be prepared to pay - it is super pricey.
